Hens

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 27 May 2015 in Animal & Insect.

Two of our three Rhode Island Red hens. 4-5 years old, they still lay an egg a day during the summer, fewer in winter. Great diggers, I've had to "cage" (fence) my gardens to protect my plants.

Beautiful hens; I didn't know they were diggers! Fantastic capture!

Ah, I didn't know that either - that they are "diggers" , from which you need to protect your plants. You have definitely captured a moment where they seem on a mission - resolutely heading off to some very important meeting. Fun!

I must say they look very robust - I'm glad you caged the garden and not the hens !
