This is a deeply moving image, Anita, and a great piece of art! The petals of this orchid seem to reach out for a loving embrace but also for a deadly one (followed by digestion in the dent of the orchid’s lip). To me the coloration of your image indicates a similar dissent: red as the color of love and red as a signal for danger.
