Bloodroot Bud

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 25 April 2013 in Plant & Nature.

A few Bloodroot plants are growing on the hill behind our pond. They fill me with joy when I see them.

Buds represent such pent-up power . . the eagerness of waiting. I see it here.

Great frame and soft tones!
The texture of bud and leaf is beautiful!

Splendides shot, les détails de la feuille sont superbes. Magnifique lumière. Belle journée.

I swear you must have tiny, tiny lights that you slip inside your floral subjects - I can't figure out another explanation for how you always manage to capture that feeling of internal glow. No exception from this bud - beautiful range of colors, from palest almost-white spring green to deep browns. A simple but sophisticated palette.

@L'angevine: Thank you. I failed to note that it is a combination of textures by Joel Olives and Coffee Shop.

Julie L. Brown from Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

Except for the leaf detail, it almost looks like tulip. You always have such nice light on your subjects.

Love the ‘protective gesture’ of the leaf towards the flower bud that you captured here.
