Orange Cosmos

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 24 September 2012 in Plant & Nature.

I tried to capture the curve of the upper petal on the front flower, focus on the lovely center, allow space between the front and back flowers, position both on a bit of a diagonal line, and eliminate distracting background elements. These are some of the things I think about when photographing flowers outdoors.
I added a couple of textures by Shadowhouse Creations.

I liked reading about your thought process - the things you think about when composing your trademark floral images. The saturated orange is stunning - I like the way my eye travels that diagonal line between the in-focus center of the front flower to the blurred flower in back. I would say your accomplished what you set out to do here.
