Corn Fields

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 2 September 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I recently purchased a point and shoot camera to have with me at all times. I was driving home from somewhere when I saw this scene, and used my little camera to capture it. Processed in Elements 10 using Topaz Simplify, Color Efex Pro and a sky texture.

Canon PowerShot S100 1/250 second F/5.6 ISO 125 25 mm

oh, now I see camera you used for this frame . I am still using this camera and love it , it is always with me :)

2 Sep 2012 12:00pm

@Mariana M.: Yes! I can put this little camera in my small purse and have it with me at all times. I found I wasn't taking my large camera along with me, especially to family events, which caused me to miss photographing them.

Well, thank goodness for that P&S! This is an amazing pastoral scene - with the gorgeous soft curve of the corn leading us deeply into the scene. Your processing is spot-on - turning this image into a magnificent painting. Really, really lovely.

This strongly reminds me of railroad posters from the 1930's - "Come visit the countryside - travel by train'.
