Elms & Fog

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 30 March 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

The second tree in this image is a gorgeous, huge, healthy American Elm that dwarfs the large, old house. I took this photo on a foggy morning. The main effect was achieved in Topaz Adjust 5 >Detailed. No textures used.

Absolutely stunning effect!! Love the subtle toning and colors. The trees are art forms all unto themselves..and I love the surprise little dog in the foreground!

What an amazing mood is evoked. The sinuous, intertwined branches filling the sky, floating in the hazy fog. And that stately, old home, taking its place among the trees. I wonder what this scene would look like in the depths of summer, when all is green.

The fog makes it all look frozen in Time and the grandness of the house sure still lingers. Love the emptiness beyond the track . .

A different look than what I've seen before...I like this effect. Nice composition and half-tone colors. A clear bright shot.

Amazing. I like the balance in the composition -- with the solid house on the right and the intricate tracery of the branches taking up the left. A beautiful scene, lovingly composed.

So much to enjoy in this photo -- the weathered house, the gorgeous tree(s), the winding lane, the little dog... Beautifully composed and processed image, Anita.

Lovely mood and processing in this image. It fits the scene extremely well. And including the dog, a little touch of life works really well.
