Anita - the essence of winter. Lovely monochromatic tones - all white and sepia.

The gentle sepia tones accentuate the tree trunks - good choice. Cold but beautiful!

I've always thought the silent transformation by snow is one of the best acts of magic around. Admire how you have toned this to your background color so it reads as 'one'.

13 Feb 2012 8:32am

@Ronnie 2¢: Actually, the landscape was toned to two colors--grey and white.

Marcie from United States

Oh...you got winter!! Exquisite!!!

HI Anita, I did get out early in the morning to take some photos (I'm posting them in a few days).
After the temperature rose a bit; most of the snow dropped from the tree branches....
you captured this winter scene perfectly...perfect timing :)

Delicate snow blanket on the trees and grass. So fragile appearing. Your husband deserves commendation!

13 Feb 2012 8:36pm

@Jim: Thanks, Jim. I told him I wished he were a photographer so we could go out together! It turns out, he is happy to go out even though he is not a photographer, so long as he has something to read while waiting.

Love how the snow clings to everything in this beautiful winter image, Anita. A scene we haven't seen much this season.
