Longwood Gardens is having an Orchid extravaganza. It is difficult to isolate a flower at Longwood Gardens--this solitary beauty was hiding in one of their fancy new bathrooms.

Oh My God... this one is amazing... i really love the treatment you do to the images....complete transformation...

@Lokesh: Thank you! Interestingly, when I began with digital photography I didn't enjoy the post processing. Now, I enjoy it a lot.

Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United States

This is beautiful! I love the flower center. One suggestion would have been to back out just a tad and leave more space on the right.

10 Feb 2012 2:38pm

@Barbara Kile: Thanks, Barbara. I know what you mean. The problem is that there was another stem on the right. Maybe I could have cloned it out, but cloning is not my strong suit.

Brenda from Canton, United States

Anita - this has such a painterly feel. I can see it featured in a large-format coffee table book of botanical paintings. Fantastic post processing. Such intense color saturation and amazing details captured. You do have such a unique compositional vision.
