Daffodil

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 2 April 2011 in Plant & Nature.

I was experimenting with different colored backgrounds (scrapbooking paper) and flower positions. I liked this combination. I encountered two problems: losing detail in bright yellows, and the texture of the bg paper looked splotchy in the final image. I got some help with the yellows from photographers at BPN Critique Forums . I added a texture by Shadowhouse Creations to mask the blotchy bg.

I'm working with daffodils too right now. It's hard to get the background with even lighting sometimes. I've bought extra lighting to help with that. It's like you underexpose to protect the yellows and the background gets dingy. This one looks good on your texture.

Lovely effect with this daffodil...yes, I agree these yellow flowers are difficult.
I haven't done one successfully, yet. Congratulations for capturing this !! :-)
