Snowdrops 2

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 3 March 2011 in Plant & Nature.

One of the first photos I took with my new extension tubes! I used the 12mm tube with a 105mm macro lens.
Taken indoors, natural light.
Applied one of my textures and used the gradient tool.
Thanks for visiting!!

Snowdrops always seem to ask for this gentle touch . . perhaps because they are so secretly, silently precious in often being lone flowers this time of year. Until those noisy crocus turn up, that is.

Very pretty Anita.

The extension tube must allow for a close minimum focus distance. I like the shallow DOF, but not sure on where to put my eye.

3 Mar 2011 6:10pm

@Julie Brown: You are right about shallow dof. i was trying to focus on the little green petals in the center of the flower.

Ioanaz from Bucharest, Romania

so beautiful tones and a lovely flower..:)

I do see it now-that is your sharpest part of the flower.

Beautifully done, Anita. I like the composition and the soft look given by shallow DOF. Colours are also great, the yellow matches it very nicely.
