First Snowdrop!

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 1 March 2011 in Plant & Nature.

Yay! Most of snow is gone. I cleared leaves off some beds and discovered Snowdrops. The first flowers of the season.

Great unusual spring photo, Anita. I like the composition and shallow DOF. The water bead accompanies the blossom nicely. I also like the overall wet and dark atmosphere of early spring which you captured perfectly. Great shot!

this has spring all over it, love it... although it looks like the flower is crying... the waterdrop is like a tear

Lifts the heart to see these first appear . . I noticed them in London four weeks back - just the one clump and, now, mysteriously disappeared !

I'd do anything to see snowdrops! We still have lots and lots of snow. What a beautiful first-of-spring image. Makes me smile!

Wow, don't you love to see this? They are aptly named. I like the detail on the flower and the blurred background.
