Pink Succulent

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 20 September 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I don't know the name of this little plant. I photographed it a few weeks ago at Chanticleer--gorgeous gardens open to the public near Devon, PA. Applied several of my textures--pink and green.

Beautiful hi-key, Anita. Love those muted colors.

@Larry Lefever: Thank you. Muted is a bit different from my usual style, but seemed right for this image.

Barbara from Oakland, United States

Anita is is lovely! So soft and perfect selective focus. Have you thought about making it a square? The negative space at the bottom doesn't do much to add to the amazing capture you have here.

20 Sep 2010 3:11pm

@Barbara: Thank you. Your suggestion of cropping off the bottom is a good one. I will try it.

Jim Wilson from Malvern, Pennsylvania, United States

The high key tone of this image is so scrumptious. It is unusual, to me, to see succulents in this color range, and these colors are so light and appealing. I especially like this image.

You have captured fall with the texture and color of the leaves. I've just come in for a quick break after digging up my dahlia tubers, and your photos are a treat. We have similar plants, but you have such an eye for composition and light.
