Surprised Calendula

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 10 September 2010 in Plant & Nature.

My Calendulas are late in blooming this year because some critter ate all the buds the first time around.
Photo taken indoors against an orange BG. In PP I brought out detail in Topaz Simplify, added texture by Steve 4710 and myCanvas Yellow. I removed some of texture on flower using brush tool. One can get some nice results from duplicating a texture layer. Slight vignette.

An exquisite image, Anita. One of my favorites. I love the rich yellow/gold/orange tones, the way if fills the frame, and the spiky edges. Beautiful handling !

Stunning shot, gorgeous detail in the wonderful gold petals. Great composition with those two leaves trailing down the space, drawing the eyes in again and again.
