Carpet Rose

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 6 September 2010 in Plant & Nature.

I planted a carpet rose this summer. Though it is still small, it has bloomed all summer.
I took this photo indoors. I brought out some details in Topaz Detail and Topaz Simplify. I added two of my textures. I then added the untextured rose image on top. I used multiply blending mode at various opacites.

A beautiful effect on this image. Love the layers of ruffled edges.
So many of your flowers come from your own garden, it must be an incredible and prolific one.

@DULCIE: Thanks. Gold and red seem to go together well. I do try to use flowers from my garden for many of my photos. My garden, however, is not incredible. It is mostly a cutting garden, if you know what that is. But, I do enjoy it.

It has a lot of depth, and the color is so saturated. I like the detail in the petals and the canvas texture.
