I blended two images--one in focus the other blurred.

Wonderful macro and beautiful colors.

Lovely colours (especially the blue on yellow) and very nice dreamy effect.

Beautiful colors and nice soft effect.

Lovely colors! For me, I would crop some off the bottom. I can see why you would want the blossom with the yellow bg.

@Barbara Kile: Barbara: Thanks for your suggestion. Always appreciated!
Beautiful treatment, Anita. So gentle.

Magnificent... ah... I just have to try this method of blending, Anita... you're a master of it! :)

@Magrat: Thanks. Another approach is to duplicate your image; use Gaussian Blur to blur the duplicate; enlarge the duplicate by 1%; then drag the duplicate over the original and blend the two. You can blend on Normal, and use the Opacity slider to get the look you want. I believe this is sometimes called Orton. You can also try different blend modes.
Great effect, adds depth to the image. Lovely pastel colors and beautiful warm sunny light just behind the sharpest blue petals. Ymmmm ! :-)

Absolutely fantastic! Well done!

Nice work to combine the two images. I like the soft look of the photo and yet in focus to see the petals.

This blue against the yellow....it's awesome!

What a wonderful, subtle photo. I tend to like the "main" focus high in the frame, so I don't necessarily agree that cropping is necessary. And the choice of background is brilliant and bold.

I think blue/yellow color combinations are my favorite. Exquisite contrast between soft and sharp.
