@Michael Skorulski: Thank you! I just enjoyed a visit to Thailand on your blog.
It's been interesting to see you take photos "in the field." They are beautiful, still with your attention to detail and to placement in the frame.

@GJC: Thanks. It has been fun to get out and take photos "in the field" again.

@Mirjam: Thank you.
Very nice composition. I like the detail on the stem and the out of focus red flowers (monarda?) in the background? Was this shot in your field?
27 Jun 2010 2:11pm
@Julie Brown: Thanks. This was taken in my garden. You are correct that the red blotches are Monarda. My meadow currently has milkweed, rudbeckia and queen anne's lace, plus grasses. I will get out to photograph them soon.
Gorgeous......love the fuzz on the stalk, and the wonderful background......

@Sergei Z: Thank you. I'm glad you visited my blog and life my image.
One of your finest of this style in my opinion - I like the sense of separation that the color and focus give to the cone flower. These flowers go thru so many interesting 'phases' that something always seems to be happening !

@Ronnie 2¢: Thank you! You are right about the many phases of these flowers--always lovely and interesting to photograph.
