Flower Rainbow

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 21 June 2010 in Plant & Nature.

Monarda or Bee Balm bud. I was amazed to see these colors when I saw the image on my monitor. I took the picture in the evening, with soft backlighting from a western sky.

+++14 of my prints are on exhibit at a local coffee shot: Morning Glories, 312 Market Street, Oxford, PA 19363, 610-932-8014. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 8am - 3pm.+++

Yes, the gentle back-lighting has reveled so much in structure and color . . love that mention of a 'western sky' - that's what's behind the brick wall outside my office window !

Very interesting how some flowers are pretty because of their pretty petals and others are pretty because they are unique. You captured the unique details of this flower very well.

You have captured fall with the texture and color of the leaves. I've just come in for a quick break after digging up my dahlia tubers, and your photos are a treat. We have similar plants, but you have such an eye for composition and light.
