Flowering Bush Plectranthus

Posted by
Anita (West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United States) on 17 January 2010 in Plant & Nature.

Taken at Longwood Gardens Conservatory this week.

The slide show I presented to a retirement community went well. I did learn that if I'm going to do this more, I need my own, calibrated projector.

I have been INTERVIEWED three times by photo-buddies:

Congratulations on this fine image -- and the slide show, too! That must have been an interesting experience. I'm glad you had a chance to share you beautiful world with others.

Congratulations on the presentation, Anita! This is always invaluable experience, I would say. I like this photo very much. The separation of the subject as well as repeating pattern of flowers of the same kind in the background is excellent and colours are great! Blue colour is not very common in nature and it's always great view on blue field like this one. Very well done!

What interests me very much in this image is the repetition of the flower
many times over in the background. A really nice effect.
Thanks for letting us know about the slide show. Glad you are thinking of doing it again...with full control !!

The colors, shallow dof, and repitiion in the background make this. Nice.

Beautifully done...glad to hear your show went well.......i'd wait and be sure you were really going to need to purchase that projector....but if you do, you can chalk it up to a "new business" expense!!

What a lovely image for me to view as I pick back up on my daily "blog jogging." The wonderful bokeh in the background is what makes this image so glorious IMO. And what a fantastic opportunity -- slide show presentation. I'll bet it was AWESOME and the attendees were mesmerized by the beauty of your work and your broad range of knowledge and information!

Like the soft focus and blue tones, beautiful image Anita. About a year ago Nikon introduced a camera with a built in projector, the COOLPIX S1000pj. Not sure how well it performs.

I also enjoy, and learn much, from viewing your photos. You always have great framing and composition of the subject that helps me in my photography. This shot is very well done. A single flower stem in the foreground with the dof planned just right.

Very well done, Anita. I really like the blue on blue. If anything, I would have liked to see even more blue in the background particularly around the lower parts of the subject.
