I'm back from a few days in Maine.
This red door is from Peter Beerits' collection of used objects. Photo taken at Nervous Nelllie's Jams and Jellies, Deer Isle, Maine .
This image is part of a summer project by the Chester County Camera Club.

This one stopped me in my tracks - what was a red door doing standing in the middle of a field of flowers? Simply arresting.

18 Jun 2012 4:07pm

@Brenda: hanks for you kind comment on my red door! Peter provided the door, my husband provided the support, and I provided the idea and the camera!

Sue-Ann from Quebec, Canada

une porte qui mène d'un jardin à un autre... original, bien vu et superbe couleur rouge...

A very attractive photo and beautiful colors ... something out of a storybook ... really love this!

18 Jun 2012 8:23pm

@RBL: Thank you! Peter creates magical sculptures and sets them in this meadow.

thami from Fès, Morocco

Jolie composition aux trois couleurs primaires! La porte est désormais une sculpture qui trône dans un écrin de verdure...
Bonne semaine lumineuse!

18 Jun 2012 8:43pm

@thami: Thank you! Interestingly enough, the door belongs to a sculptor who creates large pieces that sit around in the meadow.

Vert Pomme from Montreuil Sous Bois, France

Makes me wonder, if I walked through the door would I find a magical world? Love the way you shared the details of the "set-up"...very creative. Well framed leading to a wonderful composition. Very Nice image!

@crazy Steve: Yes, you would definitely be in a magical world--on Deer Isle, Maine! Thanks for visiting and commenting. :-)

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

What a wonderful exhibit - and your simple style here perfectly does it (and the setting) full justice ! More to come, I hope.

19 Jun 2012 6:20am

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks! Peter Beerits' funky sculptures provided the inspiration and the magic to hold up the door. I'll post further door-project photos.

Chantal from Terheijden, Netherlands

19 Jun 2012 9:31am

@Chantal: If you walk through the door, you are in a magical house.

Are you saying this is a Deer Isle Peter Beerits 'original', then, but you moved it around ? His celebration of junk is known to me and I believe he does whole room settings, now.

20 Jun 2012 6:39am

@Ronnie 2¢: I'm delighted that you know Peter's sculptures. He is my husband's cousin and we visit every summer. To answer your question: No, this is not a Peter sculpture. It is a door he found and hasn't used yet. He allowed me to use it as i wished. I placed it in the meadow and had my husband hold it up. I was delighted to include the Lupine as we went to Maine in June specifically to photograph them. Yes, Peter does whole room sculptures. He also builds house-like structures and fills them with "people."

Julie L. Brown from Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

Nice combination of elements here. The colors just pop! My questions were answered in your reply to Ronnie.
