Thank you for your visits and comments. I'm slow at visitng your sites, but hope to get there.
Longwood Gardens is having a Chrysanthemum extravaganza in its conservatory. I spent some time there last Friday.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Very nice delicate colours, shallow DOF and diaginal composition. The pink in the background are other blooms or did you use a texture overlay?

@Tomas Turecek: Thanks, Tomas. I used a texture overlay--one of MY OWN textures! I modified the texture color a bit to match the color in the original image.

As you know, I'm especially fond of abstracts. I like the clarity of the front petals softly and gently blurring into the textured background. You are becoming a master of creating your own textures and using them very effectively.
