Dahlia PetalPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 24 October 2009 in Plant & Nature. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Lee from Osaka, JapanStunning closeup. I wonder if placing the focus point so low in the frame doesn't lead the eye out of the picture though. Regardless it is a very nice image. 24 Oct 2009 12:15pm @Lee: Yes. I agree with you. I almost didn't post it for that reason--cropped (in camera) a bit too close. Thanks for visiting and commenting! Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomThe crop and the point of focus don't bother me at all : I take this as a bold dose of punchy color and one big visual statement. I might have tinkered with the levels a little to make it darker and more of a mystery but, then, some of the smooth gentleness would be lost. 24 Oct 2009 4:04pm Don from spokane, United StatesI'm impressed with the subtle shapes and lines in this beautiful image. Wonderful gradation of tones too. Very well done. 24 Oct 2009 5:37pm Dulcie from Danville, CA, United StatesA beautiful petal...I'm glad you went for it. 24 Oct 2009 7:02pm Samantha from Toronto, Canadawhat a beautiful petal shot. you've captured the flowers soft and very smooth texture. great work! 25 Oct 2009 2:15am Marcie from Newton, United StatesGorgeous abstract. Love the sensual lines and curves.a 25 Oct 2009 6:28pm Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesExcellent abstract macro, Anita. Two things though. The center seems just a tad bit noisy on my monitor. And I would darken that little triangle in the UR corner. 28 Oct 2009 7:18am |
