Dahlia on YellowPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 22 October 2009 in Plant & Nature. I'm back. My sister leaves today. We have had a lovely visit--especially precious as we live on opposide sides of the country and only see each other twice a year. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

This is lovely. I like the transparency of this shot and the light luscious colors, not to mention that flower with its curly petals ! 23 Oct 2009 6:15am Ravi from Bangalore, IndiaLovely. This is just stunning. 23 Oct 2009 9:10am Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomLove the even softness in this . . I feel flowers are often over-sharpened and you have it right here. 23 Oct 2009 1:36pm Sue from Paducah, United StatesAre you being a little too hard on yourself regarding shooting textures? ;) It looks to me that you have created a perfect match between the flower and subtle texture. 26 Oct 2009 1:07pm @Sue: Thank you, Sue. I think what you are hearing in my words is my frutration at not being able to use some textures created by others that I love, but haven't yet been able to replicate. I could use them, but not if I'm going to show my work at particular venues. Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesI think your texture looks great here. The yellow complements the center of the flower and the hint of pink in the textured background is highlighted by the petals and visa versa. 28 Oct 2009 7:20am |
