CosmosPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 6 October 2009 in Plant & Nature. Added texture Scratchee Pink by pareeerica with color slightly adjusted. Original image taken indoors, natural light. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Dulcie from Danville, CA, United StatesLovely image, lovely color. I really enjoy the one petal of the cosmos going its own way. 6 Oct 2009 5:14am Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicHonestly, without the background it would be just another usual photograph BUT you proved your skills again and turned it into beautiful image with a postprocessing. Moreover, flower photographers are taken by many as those taking photos of "perfection" in floral world and you go against this cliché and it works really well! I think that the curled petal is what makes this image more interesting. I like it. 6 Oct 2009 6:23am Bob Towery from Granite Bay, United StatesThis is such a well done image, I'm amazed. The texture of the petals is to die for. Way to go! 6 Oct 2009 9:24am Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomThe lightness of touch puts this into a different category to your recent work but it allows more of the delicacy to sine thru. Stopping down has given you a good depth of focus edge-to-edge , too. 6 Oct 2009 12:40pm MJ from Delaware, United Stateslovely, delicate... beautiful color.....nice composition 6 Oct 2009 1:16pm Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United StatesA cosmos with a mind of its own! I like flowers with personality. Nice work! 6 Oct 2009 4:11pm Magda from Vancouver, CanadaBeautiful! Love the brightness and softness of this image! Well done 6 Oct 2009 9:27pm Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesAnita, the backgrounds you chose work so well with the flower being photographed that it all looks so very natural even though I know the background isn't. That is really good work! 7 Oct 2009 9:52am Betty from Phillipsburg, United StatesYou have a wonderful eye for color, all your composition are so color pleasing. Excellent work, Anita. Bravo! 7 Oct 2009 12:49pm Theys from Charleroi, BelgiumBeautiful color.....nice composition, GREAT WORK.!!! 7 Oct 2009 8:46pm Bo Mackison from Wisconsin, United StatesWhat makes this flower photograph stand out is the delicate turn of the petal on the lower left. Rather a shy turn. Really nice effect. 7 Oct 2009 9:43pm Dan Creighton from Pottstown, United StatesI just photographed this exact same type of flower recently and struggled with the ID. Is cosmos a type of flower a title you have given it Anita? Love the high-key style of image and the texture overlay is very effective here. Beautiful image. 8 Oct 2009 2:19am Bethany from Michigan, United StatesThis is very pretty! I like the texture and how you applied it to this one. 19 Oct 2009 11:22pm |
