Pink DahliaPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 22 September 2009 in Plant & Nature. The Dahlias in my garden are at their best right now. They gladden my heart at the end of the growing season. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Bo Mackison from Madison, United StatesI love the detail of the flower, especially the center. The flower might stand out more if the background was darker. Just wondering... 22 Sep 2009 3:47pm Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomThis is serious macro work here and, at f/45, you might have her roots in focus out back ! 22 Sep 2009 5:04pm @Ronnie 2¢: Ronnie: On my lens, f54 is not what one normally thinks of as f54, but more like f32. My lens records the effective f stop, which I find rather confusing. Thanks. Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesStunning color and texture! Another wonderful macro. 23 Sep 2009 2:14am tara from California, United Statesthis is very dainty and just so lovely to look at. 23 Sep 2009 3:07am Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicWell composed with lovely colours and great lightning.
