The Dahlias in my garden are at their best right now. They gladden my heart at the end of the growing season.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I love the detail of the flower, especially the center. The flower might stand out more if the background was darker. Just wondering...

@Ronnie 2¢: Ronnie: On my lens, f54 is not what one normally thinks of as f54, but more like f32. My lens records the effective f stop, which I find rather confusing. Thanks.
