Orange African Daisy

Monday morning was unexpectedly overcast, so I hurried to Longwood Gardens to take advantage of the diffuse light. I managed 1 1/2 hours before the clouds cleared.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Excellent palette of colours, Anita, and that circle of stamens around the centre with a hint of rotation is wonderful. I also like the clean green background.

@Tomas Turecek: Thank you. I had to do some work to get the BG to be a consistent green, and I like the results. I keep learning more and more.

The diffused light gives your close up remarkably even lighting. I love the tiny details you captured with this shot. The little purple pieces are my favorites! Nice work.

Nice composition, a real sun burst approach. I like the green background peeking in between the petals that is uniform in color.
