African DaisiesPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 31 August 2009 in Plant & Nature. Taken in my garden. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United StatesI love these daisies and your colors are wonderful here. 31 Aug 2009 5:09am Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicI like the overall soft look probably achieved by overcast sky or shade. Still the main colours are very good contrasting and this is also appealing. Those dew drops like small diamonds together with blueish centre of the flower are topping the image. Great work! 31 Aug 2009 6:36am Dulcie from Danville, CA, United StatesBeautiful, especially all the water droplets. 31 Aug 2009 6:46am ClaudiaBCN from Barcelona, AndorraHi Anita, congrats to this stunning macro shot ! My garden has some lovely flowers, but is rather untidy. Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomSo refreshing . . what alovely pose they strike when they know you are watching ! 31 Aug 2009 11:44am Marilla from Turku, FinlandWonderful shot! I don't think I have ever seen African daisies before. 31 Aug 2009 3:00pm @Marilla: Thanks! I hope I am correct about the name of the flowers. They are annuals here in gardening zone 6, and this was my first year of planting them. I got them specifically for photos. Mine are not as beautiful as some I've seen in photographs. Don from spokane, United StatesA beautiful close up with such nice colors. The dew drops add much to the appeal of the image too. You shot a nice time in the day. Fine work. 31 Aug 2009 3:45pm Marcie from Newton, United StatesStunning color!! Love how you captured the rain. Beautiful!!! 31 Aug 2009 6:37pm Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesGood morning Anita. I like this image a lot. The background looks good and I like the way the flowers, focus and dof leads the eye from LR to UL. The colors are excellent as well. Nicely done. 1 Sep 2009 10:03am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesNever disappointing to look at your daily post! 2 Sep 2009 1:32am @Curly: Glad you like it! Thanks for visiting.
