Lily with Texture 3Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 9 August 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. Same image as last post, but with different textures. This is in response to my photo-buddy Pat Shorten's request. I'm having fun experieimenting!! *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Dulcie from Danville, United StatesMagical application of neutralizer and textures. You have mastered this technique beautifully. 9 Aug 2009 6:26am @Dulcie: Thanks!! Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicAs I wrote to your previous post, you have amazing sense for these combinations. This is great as well, I like the previous one, though. 9 Aug 2009 7:19am @Mags: Thank you so much. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI really LOVE this version, Anita! It's just beautiful. I downloaded Topaz Adjust to try and it's amazing! 9 Aug 2009 11:59am @Betty: Betty: Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like it. :-) I will look forward to seeing your e xperiments with Topaz Ajust. It's fun, isn't it? Ed Vatza from United StatesSo, so nice, Anita. You have hit upon a rich vein to mine here. These are beautiful. I wonder if you can run a tile through a photo printer?!?!? ;^) 9 Aug 2009 2:24pm Barbara Kile from Ft. Worth, United StatesAnother great version! Love this one too. Experimenting IS fun! 9 Aug 2009 3:15pm @Barbara Kile: Thank you!! susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesYou're doing a wonderful job with your experiments!!! ok, now explain....what is "topaz adjust" ?? 9 Aug 2009 4:41pm @susan: Thanks Susa. Topaz Adjust is a photo enhancement software program that can be used with any version of Photoshop and Elements. View the first tutorial video (3 minutes)here. If the link doesn't work, cut and paste it, or, google topaz adjust. @Vanilla Wine: Thank you. I'm glad you like it. PShorten from West Chester, United StatesI love this edition....it's just wonderful. Your lovely flower photography isn't lost in the post-processing but strenthened by it! 9 Aug 2009 7:26pm @PShorten: Thank you, Pat!! This one is for you. Tracy from La Selva Beach, United StatesGorgeous work on this! I wish I had the patience to do this type of work, it is SO beautiful! 9 Aug 2009 7:37pm @Tracy: Thank you, Tracy. I know what you mean about patience. Believe it or not, I'm not one to spend hours on the computer with post processing. That is one thing I like about textures--they don't take a long time. @LM: Thank you! Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesVery tastefully and skillfully done. I love both images, but this is my favorite. 10 Aug 2009 1:58am @Chris Parr: Thank you, Chris. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesAbsolute works of art but I recognize this texture was used on a previous photo... Not a criticism but an observation. Do you generate your own background textures? 10 Aug 2009 4:00am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesOops -- excuse me, Anita. I guess it wasn't used on a previous photo. I went back and looked. My apologies for an untruth. Just goes to prove that one should double check the facts before pulling the trigger. (Besides all that, I'm old and should be forgiven for that reason.) :-)) 10 Aug 2009 4:04am @Earnest: No worries, Earnest. One looks at so many photos here at am3 that it is easy to get confused. I'm glad you like it. I do not create my own textures, but get them from from a flickr group textures for layers, which also has tutorials on how to use them. Mary from Exton, United StatesAnita, Terrific.. I am glad you took Pat's suggestion and made it work for you.. Terrific! 10 Aug 2009 12:15pm don Wiley from Spokane, United StatesI like the lighter look of today's. The texture treatment is very enhancing. A fine, appealing image. You're experimentation is paying off! 10 Aug 2009 3:34pm Marcie from Newton, United StatesVery creative. Love the soft colors..the texture. Very painterly. 10 Aug 2009 6:10pm Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomI don't see this as an alternative but as an equally-impressive version . . you have managed to control the excesses that TA can sometimes encourage and produce considerable beauty here. 10 Aug 2009 6:58pm Bethany from Michigan, United StatesCool processing- looks like a wood art that belongs in a kitchen or bathroom :) 11 Aug 2009 8:25pm Trina from Philadelphia, United StatesAnita, I love how you added the texture to the flower. Nice way to experiment and for the rest of us to watch you experiment! 13 Aug 2009 11:23am @Lougris: Thank you! Mark from Sterling Heights, United StatesAnother beauty Anita. Well done with the Topaz! :-) The texture is very complimentary in this shot. You are certainly developing a great eye for these combinations. 17 Aug 2009 2:33am ABW from Colorado, United StatesGreat shot! And the texture makes it look like a drawing/painting from an old flower book. Really nice! 20 Aug 2009 6:31pm @ABW: Thank you for visiting and commenting. I'm glad you like it. |
