SneezeweedPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 24 July 2009 in Plant & Nature. Taken last week at Longwood Gardens, PA, USA. Outdoors, tripod, natural light, macro lens. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

GJC from Kyoto (京都), JapanThis looks like fireworks against a green sky. Lovely. 24 Jul 2009 5:40am Dulcie from Danville, United StatesA pretty unglamoress name for such a handsome flower. You've caught nature's handiwork gloriously, Anita. 24 Jul 2009 5:57am Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom"Sneezeweed" ? . . what a happy name ! It looks very powerful and purposeful, hafta say. 24 Jul 2009 6:31am Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicInteresting flower Anita. I never sow this one. Is it in a full bloom or is it already fading away? I ask because of the pale colour of petals and also because of the shape of the petals. I like the contrast between colours of petals and nice green background. I think that it would look beautifully also with higher aperture and whole "ball" sharp. Very good image anyway. 24 Jul 2009 7:03am Betsy Barron from Chester Springs, PA, United StatesHa... HA... HAAA... Great photo Anita! 24 Jul 2009 1:22pm Marcie from Newton, United StatesHave never heard of 'sneezeweed'. Love the color and the spherical center. 24 Jul 2009 4:38pm Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesVery interesting flower. Nice capture. With my allergies, virtually any plant could be called "sneezeweed". 25 Jul 2009 12:18am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesI've been identifying and cataloging my wildflower photos and when I saw this I thought sneezeweed but the orange threw me as did the big head... I was gladdened to find out I was right when I scrolled to the caption. It's a beauty. 10 Aug 2009 3:58am @Earnest: Thanks, Earnest. I think it is a wonderful idea to catalogue your wildflower photos. You have so many and are so good at identification. |
