Gloriosa Daisy (Rudbeckia) Bud

Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 13 July 2009 in Plant & Nature.

Many thanks for the kind comments on my recent images. :-)

Taken a few weeks ago in my garden. I love these large, somewhat coarse Rudbeckias, especially as they are unfolding. Unfortunately, I don't know what type they are.

Natural light, macro lens, tripod.

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

The detail is terrific. And the richness of the green is very pleasing.

It seems I can see the petals unfurling, like the fingers of a fist de-clenching. Great choice and great execution.
