Garden Columbine 2

Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 15 May 2009 in People & Portrait.

I let my Columbines self-sow last year, causing them to spread an pop up in unexpected places. There are enough to cut and bring indoors for bouquets.

Like the last image, this was taken indoors with natural light, reflectors and tripod.

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Really lovely. They are so delicate. I have them popping up in interesting places too. I'm not even sure where they came from. They just sort of appeared.

Not only delicate, but amazing colors!

Gorgeous shot of the flower, but would probably have more impact on a darker background...

A lovely clean little flower study. I prefer this to the previous because the background, here, does not carry color . .

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks. I'm experimenting with backgrounds. I appreciate your feedback.

Bethany from Michigan, United States

Good choice of white for the background- sets off the color wonderfully!

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

It seems like a water color picture. And I feel something Japanese, I don't know why. Anyway, I like it.

@Hiro: I am glad you like it. Thank you for commenting.

Here you go with those white backgrounds again. (smile) Very pretty flower. The image is sharp and the colors vivid. The color combo seems to work well against the white. Nicely done.
