ButtercupPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 9 May 2009 in Plant & Nature. Played with a different presentation of this simple flower. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomI like the presentation . . it is an answer to that oft-asked question of what color to make the AM3 background and I can tell the buttercup is right pleased with the outcome ! 9 May 2009 6:48am edvatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesExcellent color. Excellent detail. Because of the surface, I have found Buttercups to be difficult to photograph without getting those shiny white specular highlights. None here which is great. And the background is super! 9 May 2009 8:34am Sue from Paducah, United StatesI agree with the previous comment regarding the challenge of photographing the Buttercup due to the often shiny highlights on the surface. You have met the challenge beautifully; presenting a beautifully composed and exposed image with great detail. 9 May 2009 12:01pm Don from spokane, United StatesI like the delicate yellows which work so well with the green of the shot. Very nice image. 9 May 2009 2:18pm john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesExquisite. They are in great abundance here. 9 May 2009 3:37pm @john4jack: Thanks, Jack. Here also. I can't recall ever having the patience to find a buttercup fully extended like this. This capture is a revelation. 12 May 2009 3:43pm Magda from Vancouver, CanadaI never knew how gorgeous a buttercup can be! In my garden it doesn't look so "pretty" (grin) Fantastic colour and DOF!
