Striped CrocusPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 27 March 2009 in Plant & Nature. I love the stripes on this Crocus and the curve of the lower right petal. I'm experimenting with white backgrounds. I think this one tends a bit towards blue. Crocus from my garden. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. I love that lower right petal! 27 Mar 2009 10:21am edvatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesSaw this on the forum, Anita. My seeming aversion to white backgrounds notwithstanding, this is simply a beautiful image. I love the color combination in the Crocus petals and I do like the way the white in the petals still stand out from the background. In some respects, it creates an almost abstract feel. Excellent! 27 Mar 2009 11:10am Marcie from Newton, United StatesSuch exquiste detail. The colors and stripes are mesmerizing. 27 Mar 2009 11:20am GJC from Kyoto, JapanThis is outstanding. I also like the colors, that's what pops and pulls me in. Well done! 27 Mar 2009 2:21pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThe white background matches the white of the crocus. The lower right petal balances the composition. Exquisite, over all. 27 Mar 2009 3:43pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis is like an artist's rendering of the perfect crocus . . such fine detail against the white background. I'm not sure about the box around, though, as it tends to restrict the wonderful freedom of the flower. 27 Mar 2009 5:43pm zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat shot Anita (as usual) and it's also a very eye-catching post-treatment and presentation. 28 Mar 2009 11:04am John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesStunning image Anita, really like purple and white here. The processing is great, but I really love how the one petal is "scooping the air." That element makes this image that much more special to me. Nicely done! 14 Apr 2009 12:06am |
