Himalayan Blue PoppyPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 19 March 2009 in Plant & Nature. This unusual flower is forced at Longwood and planted in the Conservatory in March. Photographers were clustering around them like bees to flowers. For the same image turned 180 degrees and slightly cropped, go to flickr
*****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I used a reflector. PShorten from West Chester, United StatesSo I went to the Flickr photo and went back and forth between the two to see which one I like better. They are both lovely with wonderful color and compostion as well as perfect focus. What I found was that I feel more positive and at peace with the flower on flickr - just works better for me. I think my eye is going in a more natural direction. 19 Mar 2009 1:59pm @PShorten: Pat: Thanks for looking at both images. The one here is how the flower looks at Longwood, but the version on flickr is how we are more used to seeing flowers--looking up. I don't know which I prefer, hence, I value your input.
