Cineraria 3Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 8 March 2009 in Plant & Nature. Hope you aren't getting tired of Cinerarias! The opening reception for the photo exhibit in which I have 3 images was last night and it was a lot of fun. One more venue for sharing my photos. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Steve from Camdenton, United StatesNice shot! Great single flower in the foreground with a wonderful dof. Learning a lot from your compositions. 8 Mar 2009 5:21am @Steve: Thank you, Steve. I've been working on having color in the BG with selective focus on the flowers. zOOm from Paris, FranceWe're in a blue tone... its's so peaceful and fresh... you really manage the dof with perfection. 8 Mar 2009 9:08am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI just love the colors! So soft and beautiful! 8 Mar 2009 11:04am António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThis is similar to the first one. The second still is the one I like the most. 8 Mar 2009 11:35am Sue from Paducah, United Statescongratulations on the reception and gallery showing. And I'm confident your images were very well received!!! You have quite an outstanding collection of images that could (and should) be shared with great pride. 8 Mar 2009 11:41am Chris from South Jersey, United Statesbeautiful shot - no I am not getting tired of this fantastic flower (or your captures!!). Glad your exhibition went well - it must have been fun!! 8 Mar 2009 11:57am Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomA wonderful wash of blue here . . blues seems a restful color. 8 Mar 2009 5:55pm edvatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesLooks like you worked the Cineraria pretty thoroughly there at Longwood, Anita. I like the sharp flower subject against diffuse flower background a lot. I started to play around with that approach last fall before running out of flower season. I am wondering how this would have worked as a vertical as there is a lot of room to the right as presented. 8 Mar 2009 6:47pm jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandJust beautiful I like the way the coulour is repeated in the background 8 Mar 2009 11:18pm David R. Ross from Bryn Mawr, PA, United StatesI've been flipping back and forth between Cineraria 1 and 3. Both are stimulating, but on the whole I prefer having the softer background reinforce the foreground flower (3). I see the point about the lack of blue to the left suggesting a vertical composition, but I'm fond of the way you feature flowers entering stage left in these horizontal shots. 9 Mar 2009 10:28am |
