CinerariaPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 4 March 2009 in Plant & Nature. This is part of a series of experimental shots of these beautifu blue flowers. I had lots of fun taking the photos. More to come. You are invited to the opening reception of the Oxford Arts Alliance Photographic Invitational Show, which includes three of my photographs, Friday March 6, 2009 5-8pm), 38 S. 3rd St., Oxford, PA 19363. www.oxfordart.org. The show will run until March 29, with gallery hours Fridays, Saturdays and SundaysSee About, below for more information. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

@Sugata: Thank you for visiting and commenting. Frida from SwedenLovely and so beautiful. I like the selective focus and the blue tones are great. 4 Mar 2009 8:26am Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesI like what the bokeh does for the flower bud in focus. It creates an extension of the flower without taking away from the delicate bud. Great job, Anita. 4 Mar 2009 11:24am Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesI like what the bokeh does for the flower bud in focus. I love the soft, delicate focus! I gotta say, I'm jealous of all the time you get to spend at Longwood Gardens. The last time I was there I was probably 10 or so, on a field trip for school. Since developing my interest in photography I've longed to go back, but, well, I'm sort of across the country now! Anyway, I'm glad you're making such good use of it! Your photos are always so beautiful! :) 5 Mar 2009 12:23am @Jen: Thanks. I'm glad you like it. Yes, I am very fortunate to live near Longwood Gardens. Isn't there a botanical garden near you? @Michael: Thanks! Gald you like it. I lived in Texas for 11 years during the last 60s and early 70s.
