CrayonsPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 26 January 2009 in Art & Design. This is the second of the series of little challenges Mary Brooks Brown and I have set for ourselves. Every two weeks we each post our version of a pre-selected theme, and eagerly look to see what the other has posted. The theme this time is Crayons. As I thought about it, I previsualized the crayons arranged like a color wheel. I set them up on black velvel near a window. Natural light, 18-70mm kit lens, tripod. These challenges are helping my creative juices to flow! *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Ed Heaton from Atglen, United StatesExcellent job Anita. I love the color wheel approach... 26 Jan 2009 1:31pm Mary from Exton, United StatesAnita, 26 Jan 2009 1:33pm Chris from South Jersey, United Statesvery clever - it is too cold for flowers outside now so you made your own!! 26 Jan 2009 5:24pm Sue from United StatesI just have to smile...great big! Our local photography club had a photo challenge and the theme was "Wheels." I attempted to shoot a color wheel made from crayons! :) I struggled with getting the colors lined up precisely, both in spacing as well as labels uniform. I also struggled with keeping a glare off the crayons; even while using natural light. I ended up using a different photo for my entry due to my dis-pleasure with my color wheel attempts! You, however, have succeed perfectly! So nice! 26 Jan 2009 7:06pm Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesFantastic use of natural light Anita. You make brilliant use of this time when conditions are not so great outdoors. 26 Jan 2009 9:48pm Kathryn from Warburton, Australiaa superb shot! so striking! and i love the border! 27 Jan 2009 6:11am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandThats amazing!! I like your conception of how they might look...and how you pulled it off so well. Fine job of shooting. 28 Jan 2009 5:56pm Arianna from Spokane, United StatesDid you arrange the crayons or did you take a picture of them already like this. Bravo, Bravo well done 3 May 2009 9:28pm @Arianna: I arranged them like this. This is one of my few completely pre-visualized images. I'm glad you like it. |
