Amish Farm at Sunset

Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 19 January 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

Taken on the way to a friend's house a few days ago. Kit lens, tripod, post processing in PS7. May be a bit oversaturated.

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

The lighting is exquisite, Anita. The Amish have much to teach us about peace.

that evening light is fantastic, and the sky colors as well. The yellow sunlight on the house may be a bit saturated, but I am being picky....nice shot...

@Chris: Chris: I appreciate your pickiness. That is how I improve!!!

The light is beautiful. Must have been the perfect time of day. The tones may be slightly over-saturated but not to the point of being over the top.

The farm is wonderful.

the colours of the sky add to the mystique !. the buildings are so peaceful and quiet( amish buildings no doubt !) .. yet there is this agitation in the sky ...

21 Jan 2009 12:17pm

@chakrapani: Thank you. I appreciate your observation of the contrast between peaceful buildings and agitated sky!
The house, barn and silo are Amish built and lived in and worked in by Amish. This is a relatlively new farm, built within the last 10 years.
