Pink CyclamenPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 27 December 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I have potted Cyclamen growing on my windowsill to cheer my up in the winter. I cut one of the flowers, placed it in front of black velvet, used white foamboard for reflectors below and to the left, daylight from a window to the right. Tripod and macro lens. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Ross from United StatesWow! The effect of the reflection on the petal edges is dramatic; the undulating textures mesmerizing; the pink on black stunning. The more I look, the more I notice how the foundational role of the NW to SE axis in the composition. The sharp focus in the foreground, with oh-so gentle blurring of the petal edges behind is much more effective than had the whole flower head been equally sharp. I wouldn't change a thing. 28 Dec 2008 9:51am Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomLovely record of a good companion for Christmas time . . my cyclamen are seldom without a flower most of the year. 28 Dec 2008 3:05pm Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesWOW!!!
