Seed Head

Taken in a clearing in the woods. I was trying to get bokeh, and I think I succeeded. In exchange, the seed head is not sharply in focus. I used a f2.8 aperture for the bokeh and shot facing somewhat towards the sun.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I love it, Anita. Great bokeh and there are areas that are tack sharp. The rest has a great glow about it. A real natural feel. Like you are right there in the field with it.

Love the bokeh. So nice. I'm very fond of the limited DOF that 2.8 brings. I think it gives an image an "artistic soul"......

Great job of capturing the strong sun on this plant. Your implementation of the bokeh technique offers yet another clever solution to your generally successful efforts to create photos in which the background forms a warm canvas for your foreground subject.
