Seed HeadPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 12 November 2008 in Plant & Nature. Taken in a clearing in the woods. I was trying to get bokeh, and I think I succeeded. In exchange, the seed head is not sharply in focus. I used a f2.8 aperture for the bokeh and shot facing somewhat towards the sun. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Frida from SwedenSimplicity at its best. Love the tones and bokeh. Well captured! 12 Nov 2008 10:38am Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesI love it, Anita. Great bokeh and there are areas that are tack sharp. The rest has a great glow about it. A real natural feel. Like you are right there in the field with it. 12 Nov 2008 11:24am Sue from United StatesLove the bokeh. So nice. I'm very fond of the limited DOF that 2.8 brings. I think it gives an image an "artistic soul"...... 12 Nov 2008 11:50am Marcie from United StatesThere is almost a glowing halo effect. Perfectly simple! 12 Nov 2008 1:40pm MaryP from Aberdeenshire, United KingdomLovely Anita. Nice background colour good light and composition. The entire photo looks so warm and fuzzy too ^_^ 14 Nov 2008 3:06am David R. Ross from Bryn Mawr, PA, United StatesGreat job of capturing the strong sun on this plant. Your implementation of the bokeh technique offers yet another clever solution to your generally successful efforts to create photos in which the background forms a warm canvas for your foreground subject. 14 Nov 2008 9:14am |
