Yellow Mums Original

This is the original image of the photo posted yesterday. I did basic adjustments in PS7, but used no filter.

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I cannot make up my mind. I like both of them equally. Lovely work Anita.

It IS interesting to compare the original with the artistic interpretation of the previous entry. Both share wonderful composition, color, and the interesting little turn of the few petals in the lower left corner. Both are lovely in their unique and individual way. I won't venture to "pick a favorite" because the post processing treatment is so varied that the outcome and intended purpose more than likely is varied as well.

I kinda just prefer yesterday's version which I could easily visualize on a note card.

Oooooh! This is lovely! I like both versions very much. They are very different so they appeal to me in different ways.

I'm encouraged that at the end of the day it is ok for Person A to like photo 1 and Person B to like photo 2. I'm drawn to today's version; for me the filter distracts from my enjoyment of the composition, the lovely waving interior petals. But, I've enjoyed all the comments, the diversity of reactions.
