Flying CosmosPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 24 October 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. The last of my Cosmos. We had a hard frost several nights ago. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Steve from Camdenton, United StatesVery nice, clean photo. Very well done! I also like your brief descrisption of light and reflectors that you use. 24 Oct 2008 6:16am DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomLovely macro shot, great DoF and colours, beautiful 24 Oct 2008 8:34am Sue from United StatesIt saddens me to read "The last of my cosmos." I've grown to look forward to viewing your beautiful floral images each morning with my coffee, and your cosmos have been so beautiful. Your DOF choice adds a little "whimsy" to this bright and colorful image. The selective focus nicely directs the viewers eye. 24 Oct 2008 8:57am Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeOh wow.... Oh yea... Now's the time when there's no flowers to photograph... Natural ones that is... But nice colours and detail on the centre of the flower! 24 Oct 2008 9:29am António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalVery well photographed. The shallow depth of field creates an interesting effect. 24 Oct 2008 9:56am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesLast of the beautiful, bright flowers... we had a hard frost also, several. Next will be the snow shots (or sleet since we seem to get more sleet than snow). Beautifully done, Anita. 24 Oct 2008 10:03am Florence from Paris, FranceSplendid and so professional presentation. I like the curve in the petal, and the high key effect with the white background, it takes the image out of the 'norm'. Lovely colour and fine DoF. 24 Oct 2008 12:23pm Frida from SwedenBeautiful image with an excellent white background.
