Cosmos on RedPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 12 October 2008 in Plant & Nature. The Cosmos in my garden have been especially plentiful and beautiful this year. Although I have some good images of them, I have yet to capture to my satisfaction the qualities that take my breath away. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandWow I would like to see an image that will take your breathe away as this one does mine. Fantastic shot Anita and great post processing 12 Oct 2008 6:39am António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalIn this "studio portrait" I like the colours: the yellow of the flower core against the magenta of his petals and the way the green stems stand out of red background. 12 Oct 2008 10:08am Sue from United StatesDon't you just love the 100 mm lens! I think it is my favorite. This cosmos is posed in such a graceful manner. I love the small little leaf in the lower right hand corner. And the detail you have captured in the blossom -- wonderful. A bold, but fun, choice to use the bright background. Gives the image a "graphic" look IMO. 12 Oct 2008 1:36pm MaryP from Aberdeenshire, United KingdomAmazingly vibrant and very beautiful image. The red and magenta look wonderful together. This is a lovely image, very well thought out and captured. I like the little 'bub'.
