Clover in BottlePosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 30 September 2008 in Plant & Nature. I was experimenting with a slightly high-key effect. If i were to do it again, I would use a different bottle, a clear one. Taken indoors with window light; background is white foamboard. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Steve from Camdenton, United StatesNicely done! I can see the photo using a clear bottle, but I like this one with the warm brown of the bottle and the high key of the flowers. 30 Sep 2008 5:52am Sue from United StatesIf you hadn't told us it was an "experiment" we would have never known. Nice presentation. I like the simplicity of the white background. And, clover....common clover. You've made it look very special and beautiful. 30 Sep 2008 9:09am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI think a clear bottle would have been incredible! Try it! This presentation is just beautiful... experiment successful! 30 Sep 2008 10:15am Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesI agree with your assesment, Anita. This looks great, but with a clear bottle it would be incredible. The frowers have such a illustration look to them. Like out of one of those flower identifying books. Fantastic, I really want to see the clear bottle one. 30 Sep 2008 10:47am Mary from Exton, United StatesI would also like to see this with a clear bottle.. But I would also like to see the brown bottle with maybe a yellow flower just to see the difference.. Looks like you are having some fun!!!! 30 Sep 2008 12:29pm Marcie from United StatesBeautiful still life. Love the transparency of the bottle..and the stark white background. 30 Sep 2008 6:01pm MaryP from Aberdeenshire, United KingdomYes! Clear bottle! But there is nothing wrong with this image. It' beautiful. Lovely composition and it does have the appearance of being drawn. Beautiful!. 30 Sep 2008 6:47pm John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesLovely arrangement, beautiful flowers and great contrasts. Now that you mentioned the clear bottle, I think you are correct. Still a great job composing this shot, very unique. 1 Oct 2008 2:03am jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandThis is a fantastic effect Anita I love it! I would also like to see it with a clear bottle. But it is stunning how it is Well done 1 Oct 2008 5:48am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI actually like the amber bottle. I think it makes an interesting contrast to the pastels and greens. 1 Oct 2008 5:32pm bisha from Saitama, JapanFun experiment. The amber bottle might be a nice contrast with white or yellow flowers. 2 Oct 2008 4:58pm Magda from Vancouver, CanadaI do like this bottle.... adds some character.
