Pink Cosmos

Taken in my garden. I've been paying attention to the background and trying to bring more color into it. I succeeded with this photo. The blue is Russian Sage.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

In praising your success in balancing background and foreground colors, I also want to congratulate you on choosing to shoot this from the side. It would be tempting to just shoot this glorious flower head on -- but that would a less successful photograph.
