Morning GloryPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 30 August 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeThe softness really brings out the best of the flower! Really well taken! 30 Aug 2008 7:50am GJC from Kyoto, JapanSuper work. I like these where you have a very small DOF and the rest is just color. Very nice. 30 Aug 2008 7:52am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesReally well done, Anita... I love it when you post these compositions! Gorgeous colors! 30 Aug 2008 12:33pm Monte Stevens from Fort Collins, United StatesSeems my comments are just simple words like "beautiful." 30 Aug 2008 12:49pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomSoft, dreamy, just a hint and the rest is mystery. 30 Aug 2008 9:57pm David Ross from Bryn Mawr, PA, United StatesI learn so much about the textures of flower petals from you! Here again, it is your choice of focus that nicely directs to the eye to that end. 31 Aug 2008 9:26am Raffi from Maryland, United StatesNice a soft. Did the camera give this effect or did you accomplish this through post processing? 1 Sep 2008 12:23am @Raffi: Raffi: The effect was achieved by using a wide open aperture of f 2.8, which, on a 100mm macro lens has a very narrow depth of field. I focused on the edge of the flower, causing that part to be sharp and the rest to be blurred. Kerri from Blacksburg, United StatesThis one makes my heart sing :) It has such a "dreamy" quality to it! 2 Sep 2008 12:49pm Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandThis is how a like flowerpictures ... shallow dof and great colors! It's like an abstract painting, very beautiful. 2 Sep 2008 1:19pm Betsy Barron from Glenmoore, United Statesamazing DOF - that's a sweet 2.8 you have there! 4 Sep 2008 1:25pm @Betsy Barron: Thanks. I'm very happy with the Minolta 100mm 2.8 macro lens I bought in the spring.; I almost never take it off my camera. |
