Pink DahliaPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 9 August 2008 in Plant & Nature. I'm growing Dahlia's for the first time this year. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names on them. :-( *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalDahlias are, or at least were a few years ago, very popular here in private gardens. 9 Aug 2008 11:24am @António Pires: Thanks for your supportive comment! I have not planted Dahlias in the past because we have to dig them up in the fall and replant them in the spring, due to our cold winters. I always considered that too much work. However, they are so beautiful, I decided to give them a try. Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South Africawow - awesome job on both parts Anita - for the superb job on the picture and the superb job on the Dahlia - it looks as if the colour has been painted onto the tips of the petals!! 9 Aug 2008 11:54am @Mandy Provan: Thanks for your encouraging comments, both on the photo and the flower. :-) Betty from New Jersey, United StatesJust gorgeous, Anita!
