A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I like this impressionistic-type flower picture. I think the smoothness lets the color be more pronounced without all the detail to catch our attention. A fine image.

Don says it well. There is something indescribably elegant about this image, partly because you are always careful about the background. As a result we get beautiful colors permeating the whole frame rather than just with the flower itself. Impressive.

I love the calendulas ("souci"or calendula in french), and your photo is superb!
I like the background colour with the orange of the flower, it's great!

I had to look at the image longer than usually due to the shallow dof. Only a few petals are in focus, as if it was a shy flower.
