Sunrise in the Woods

Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 25 July 2008 in Landscape & Rural.

This is the sight I see most days on my early morning walk with my dog. Nothing spectacular, just pleasant and calming.

*****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!*****

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

You've caught the sunlight really beautifull between the trees! Seems like it's going to be a nice summerday!

Good picture idea. That is almost the forests out with us. No one major difference. I like the pictures of a natural environment in different countries.

Hey - you looked up again! ;-)
Wonderful shot - the lighting is wonderful and peaceful. The image is simple but conveys a very powerful calming feeling - well done!!

@Chris: Thanks. My morning walks with camera, tripod and dog, are very calming and centering.
I will be on a trip next week, and hope to "look up" and take more landscape type photos.

Beautiful scenery! A nice change from macro flower photos for once I guess, it's good to shoot other things too once in a while! Though it seems this kind of beauty is really lacking where I am...

25 Jul 2008 4:02pm

@Koushiro~光子郎: Thanks! Natural beauty and a rural setting drew us to where we live. There are downsides, however, such as having to drive to get anyplace. You will find a different type of beauty where you live.

Beautiful how you captured the sun's rays dancing through the trees in the morning mist.

The light. The strong vertical lines. Your ability to capture the mood -- I can feel the stillness, hear the birds, the sense of wonder. What a great landscape. Thanks for your willingness to "throw a change up" in the midst of these wonderful macros.

The backlit rays of the sun filtering through the woods creates an amazing atmosphere. I can see how you'd enjoy this tranquil walk every time you get to make the trek. Fine image.
