Lily Stamen--Lombardia Oriental Lily

Lily from my garden. This year I planted Oriental and Asiatic Lilies. They are gorgeous and I am enjoying them so very much--in the garden, in a vase in the house, in a photo. What joy!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Very artisitc Anita, I love the colours and the use of such a shallow DOF, it looks like the stamen are floating in mid air almost, great work!

Seen in isolation, this abstraction did not connect with me. But, seen together with yesterday's Lilly, it worked for me.

The highly selective plane of focus gives this part of the stamen tremendous emphasis. Great color behind complements the subject. You've created one fine image!

Sorry I haven't been commenting much lately -- too much work! Anyway, wow! What a shot here. These are getting more and more abstract, and more and more creative. The DOF is so clever here and the wash of color is very fine. Your work just gets better and better.
