Lily Stamen--Lombardia Oriental LilyPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 14 July 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual. Lily from my garden. This year I planted Oriental and Asiatic Lilies. They are gorgeous and I am enjoying them so very much--in the garden, in a vase in the house, in a photo. What joy! A big THANKS to all who visited and commented on yesterday's photo. It means a lot to me. :-) *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaVery artisitc Anita, I love the colours and the use of such a shallow DOF, it looks like the stamen are floating in mid air almost, great work! 14 Jul 2008 5:20am @Kylie Greenan: Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I'm experimenting and having fun. Paul Michko from United StatesThanks for sharing your enjoyment, Anita. A marvelous macro image you've created. 14 Jul 2008 10:21am Marcie from United StatesLove the abstractness of the image. Great soft colors. 14 Jul 2008 11:37am David from Bryn Mawr, United StatesSeen in isolation, this abstraction did not connect with me. But, seen together with yesterday's Lilly, it worked for me. 14 Jul 2008 12:47pm Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeWow! Stunning colours! The DoF really works splendidly here! Great, wonderful macro!!! 14 Jul 2008 1:01pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomLovely, wonderful, dreamy details . . Nature is Tops! 14 Jul 2008 2:24pm don from spokane, United StatesThe highly selective plane of focus gives this part of the stamen tremendous emphasis. Great color behind complements the subject. You've created one fine image! 14 Jul 2008 2:52pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesThe colors and really tight focus makes this surreal - beautiful..... 14 Jul 2008 8:16pm Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesAnita... you're getting a bit close there... unusual and interesting. 14 Jul 2008 11:37pm Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesThe last few shots have been exceptionally beautiful & creative. 15 Jul 2008 2:11am GJC from Kyoto, JapanSorry I haven't been commenting much lately -- too much work! Anyway, wow! What a shot here. These are getting more and more abstract, and more and more creative. The DOF is so clever here and the wash of color is very fine. Your work just gets better and better. 15 Jul 2008 4:26am @GJC: No problem, re. commenting. I understand. Thanks for your encouraging words. Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesVery nice and pleasant image. Looks abstract. 15 Jul 2008 3:34pm @Nataly: Thanks for your kind words and for visiting. :-) dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statesmarvelous abstraction -- and i agree w/ mike -- simply magical! 17 Jul 2008 6:32pm |
