Queen Anne's Lace BudPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 26 June 2008 in Plant & Nature. Taken a few days ago in our meadow. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I altered the colors of the background a bit in photoshop 7. David from Bryn Mawr, United StatesWhat fun to see something other than the classic QAL in bloom. I enjoyed tracing the sharp edges on each of the outer leaves opening up. You've captured delicacy, grace and the promise of things to come 26 Jun 2008 9:42am Chris from South Jersey, United Stateswow - the detail is amazing, and the soft colors in the background are wonderful.... 26 Jun 2008 11:10am Kerri from Blacksburg, United StatesFabulous shot Anita!!! Betty from New Jersey, United StatesWow, Anita! Beautiful macro... love the background, it really compliments the color of the bud. Beautiful! 26 Jun 2008 10:51pm John Maslowski from Dallas,PA, United StatesGorgeous shot, love the colors and tones they are almost luminescent. Great background for this image. Beautifully composed. 28 Jun 2008 12:53am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesWho would have thought the introduced wild carrot could be so beautiful... It's just wonderful, Anita. In the meantime I've been researching this one and the North American wild carrot -- the differences are very subtle.. and getting a good photo of the bloom of either (they can be found in close proximity) is very problematic because of the size of the florescence and the diminutive size of the actual flowers... I can't wait so see what you do with them! 28 Jun 2008 4:08am @Earnest: Earnest: I didn't know there was a North American one. I will be most interested in learning what you discover about how to tell the difference. I'm glad you like this photo. This was the first year I noticed the wild carrot in bud and saw its beauty at this early stage of development. Photography has opened my eyes. |
